Debunked is a fast-paced tactical card game, in which players compete to debunk arguments, all while trying to prevent their opponents from doing the same!
How’s it work?!
Each Argument card has a number of fallacy icons on it, and each Argument is Debunked when all corresponding Fallacy cards have been successfully played against it (in any order).
Once the Argument is Debunked, each player receives as points the Fallacy cards that they have successfully played.
What’s more, the player who played the last Fallacy card receives the Argument card itself as an additional point. Players should set aside all points to count up later.
On a player’s turn, once an Argument has been Debunked or Removed, if there are no other active Arguments (Arguments in play), that player draws a new Argument and continues their turn.
The winner is the player with the most points once all of the Arguments have been Debunked or Removed. If there is a tie, the winner is the player who has the most Argument cards. And if there is yet still a tie, the winner is the player who has Hitchslap (as a point).
Simple, right? Nope!
The deck is packed full of Action (blue cards) and Reaction (red cards), and it’s with these cards that the real fun and creative strategy gets going!
For example, you could Steal a card from another player, Crusade another player to make them discard as many cards as they have points, Hitchslap an argument to win lots of points yourself, and Prevent your opponent from playing a fallacy cards!
